Dental Implants

Our most recommended method of tooth replacement is a dental implant. Only an implant will look, function and feel like your natural tooth. When you have replaced a missing tooth with an implant, you only need to care for it like you care for your natural teeth. You may soon forget completely that you were ever missing that tooth.

An implant has three parts:

  1. The implant itself, a slender titanium post that substitutes for the root of the tooth
  2. The crown, the white replacement for your tooth
  3. The abutment, an attachment point between the other two parts.

    Dr. Shah

Hello everyone. This is Dr. Shah from Central Dental Associates. Today I'm going to talk to you guys about dental implants. I have so many patients asking some questions. So I have one of my staff members, who will ask me questions and I would want to go over those questions so that way you guys have more information.

    Interviewer

What are dental implants and can anyone get dental implants?

    Dr. Shah

Yeah, good question. So dental implants is the metal post like this on which we put a tooth and technically anyone can get dental implants as long as you're missing a tooth.

    Interviewer

How long do dental implants last?

    Dr. Shah

So dental implants last a pretty long time. As long as you take good care of them, like just your normal teeth, as you brush them, you floss them, you keep everything clean, they last pretty long.

    Interviewer

    Is the procedure painful?

    Dr. Shah

So once you're numb, no, the procedure is not painful. If someone had a filling done, taking a tooth out, or anything where numbing is required, a dental implant is still the same because once you're numb, you don't feel anything.

    Interviewer

    Are dental implants expensive?

    Dr. Shah

It's a very good question. Again, if you think short-term, you may feel they're expensive, but when you add some payment plans, when you pay for some time, we try to make it as economical, and practical as possible. So those were the good questions, Kaylee. But if any of you guys have more questions, feel free to schedule an appointment with me, for a consultation, and I will be more than happy to go over this in detail. Thank you guys. See you guys next time.

What Patients Are Saying...

Ramon's Before and After Care

Ramon was tired of eating with only front teeth. He couldn’t eat food he liked as he didn’t have any back molars to chew. He was also conscious about his smile and tried to hide his teeth as much as possible. After getting All on X implants, he could eat everything what he wanted and smile confidently.

Dental Implants at Central Dental Associates

At Central Dental Associates, we are pleased to offer the services of Dr. Ken Arrieta, our implant specialist. Many practices send patients out to other offices to have the titanium implant placed in the bone of their jaw. Then the patients return to their own dentist to have the crown added.

At our office, we have the skills and experience to provide the complete implant procedure. This means no running to another office, no having to meet a new dentist. The dentists you normally see and trust at Central Dental Associates will perform all steps of the procedure right in our office.

When you need to replace a missing tooth, please call us. Let’s find out if you are a good candidate for a beautiful, permanent dental implant.
